Reason: correction
sometimes a bit out of the question but i just make sure my valuables are in my pocket and don't lock the truck . Overnight anyway. I think it was stated earlier that when the truck warms up a bit that can help.
This is the word from a locksmith at work...graphite. Oils dry, get sticky, freeze. Oils work for a while, synthetic penetrating oil even goes away after a while. The graphite has been good for a while now. When I had my doors apart a couple of years or so ago...I sprayed several good coats of graphite on everything, coating it all real good. Even the wifes Buick seems to have benefitted from the graphite.
This is a definite. I live in an area of the Northeast (SouthEastern PA) where it has a tendancy to go from above freezing during the day to below freezing at night so I know what you are going through.
Use the WD-40 to displace any water you have in the locks. Spray it in there good and then cycle the cylinder a few times. Then after that you can try some graphite or White Lithium grease available at any auto supply store(I use the Lithium Grease myself) and spray it in there. Havent had a Lock Stick on me for a few years since I started doing this....Cant say much for the door though.
Good Luck
