Why do you figure that Ford spent the money and engineering efforts to have a system that is designed to add air bubbles to the fuel supply? Now don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a good mod and I plan on doing it in the near future. Just strikes me as odd Ford would put this in there in the first place. Is it some crazy emissions plan gone wrong? Did they continue to use it in the 6.0
I think I’ve read about every post on this and no one seems to have had a problem with it. My only concern is the addition of the lift pump. The possibility my main fuel pump will fail in 1 to 2 years unless I add another pump is a concern. When the main pump starts to fail, is it a reduction in pressure that you can monitor (pressure gauge) or is it just broke and the truck fails to start. I don’t have a problem adding another pump but just don’t want to add a weak link that if it fails, the truck won’t start either.
I like the ITP system but I want a filter with a clear bowl to see water contamination. I’ll probably go with the ITP system but add a Racor 500MA with a 2 micron Filter.
The 6ohs do not have the same system. The only reason i can see fords doing this is because of the emissions. While you are getting rid of all of fords crap, so through and cut the vent tubes. It makes it much easier to fill. They sound so nice too after you finish getting rid of all the qc's.
I think that Ford was thinking that with the HEUI system the air bubbles really weren't going to be a problem anymore. They were also thinking of preventing gelling and giving an auxillary fueling port in case the tank screen becomes plugged. All good thinking, just poor execution. I really think the biggest design problem is the deadhead fuel system that doesn't purge the air once it gets through the regulator rather than the prepump lines, because there is going to be entrained air getting released regardless of whether you are pulling air at the quick connect fittings.

You'll like dealing with Dennis (ITP).
I just purchased a bunch of stuff from him and his customer service has been second to none. Plus, you can tell he takes care in packing the items he sells. Everything in it's place and a place for everything. Nice, neat, orderly.
Quality products too. Definitely well made and not cheap.
It's rare to find a vendor you want to spend money with just because of how well he takes care of you (before, during and after the sale), and because of the quality of merchandise he sells.
i just ordered that kit with an extra filter.some parts are on back order right now should have came in last friday so he should be sending it out to me today..cant wait to see what i differnts it makes..my early 99 is prety loud out side the truck..hard to hear it whistle through the 5" strait pipe at idel..you got be behid the truck.i also got his AE...cant wait to play with that..
My dealings with Dennis, on the phone and in ordering, have been a great experience. And the parts arrived when he said they would, go figure. In my opinion a great place to buy from.
