early '05 Ext. cab XLT 4wd Auto 31K miles

It tows a lot and it is usually somewhere between 20K-34K GCVW, replaced a '93 IDI with ATS turbo and there is no comparison when I have the 34Klb loads. anything under about 20K GCVW and the truck doesn't even act like it has anything hooked up to it.

You said no negatives but these lead to positives, pulling one of the heavy loads home I lost the whole P.side bank of injectors and still made it home barely. Went in and got all new injectors and a new turbo all under 10K miles and it only took a day or two in the shop.

We won't talk about the contitrac tires offroad performance or the search for a good E rated AT tire in 18" for under $1K a set.

06 F250 CC 4X4 PSD that I bought in June 06. 15K miles and not one issue at all. Absolutely pleased!!! Now, if we can do something about Diesel fuel prices....here in the Seattle area, it is back up in the 3.00/gal range....crazy! (?)

Talking

I love the looks, it makes me proud each time I drive it! Only need to change to bigger tires as the rest came for the one price...

I Like the sound, starting it up it reminds me of the early PSD I had, and this one's even sweeter!

I like the ride -- it rides the best of any of the HD light pickups in the market, which is especially wonderful considering it also has the highest load capacity for it's class! (SRW 4x4)

The integrated brake controller and nice mirrors are a must have as we tow alot -- they're something we really appreciate...

The transmission is one suweet piece of engineering -- it does exactly what you expect and has no surprises (like upshifting unexpectedly in Tow/Haul -- not mentioning any brands, of course). Speaking of which, it has enough gears for me and runs at a very respectable rpm on the fwy too! (have I said love it lately?!).

Changing oil and filter I found was also a well thought out thing (vs. brand G), I actually enjoy doing it!

Then there's a ton of little things we appreciate and smile when you need to use 'em and they are there:

- power rear slider -- so I can say hi to the pups
- keypad on door -- so you can take a swim in the lake and lock your stuff in the truck
- running boards that keep the mud off the sides of the truck
- power pedals -- so the love of my life doesn't need to sit on top of the steering wheel airbag to reach the pedals..
- the drivers glove, a really nice spot to, uhm, keep something close at hand if the need arises
- turn signals in the mirrors that you don't see flashing at you (like an other make) -- gets folks out of that lane next to you!

Awww shucks, I should just go down to the dealer and get a dang sales job...! (but then I couldn't be retired anymore )

Did I mention we love our truck??

I work in oilfeild transportation, amoung people that put on 80,000 miles a year the 6.0L is about as popular as herpes. People are trading these trucks in at 1/3 of what they paid for them after one year, there just terrible. Ford has tornished it's rep so bad with this engine it should be thinking with a clean sheet mentality. They should have dropped Navistar as there engine builder and picked up a small diesal from Caterpiller. Like Cummins, just the name Car would sell a sizable number of trucks and it would show the general public that Ford saw the problem and did something about it besides wiggling out of warranty work.

If any of you Dodge owners are reading, sad days are coming, the 5.9L is completly redone for 08 with 70% new parts, and let me tell you with the new Cummins for bigger trucks as their benchmark, they will be terrible.

SO what exactly are you saying Elemint? We should all run and trade in our trucks on douchemax's? Time will tell, Cat is having their share of problems as well, so the Cat statement is a moot point. Alas our options seem slim............JOHN DEERE are you listening?

Off we all go to hell in a handbasket!

I've no experience with STD's so I'll have to take your word on that issue. Anyway, why is it that a positive post attracts a naysayer so quickly? Did you just lurk here waiting to pounce and pee on the parade? What a sad waste of time... May I suggest starting an, "I hate the 6.0" thread for poops and giggles.

My truck has been an outstanding performer and pulls my 12.5K trailer up and over the Grapevine with ease. Back on the positive track we go....

The poster of this specifically said "no negative's please... there are plenty of other threads for that.." That is word for word. What was it about this thread that made you want to go on your rant.

Well, SUR-PRISE, SUR-PRISE! (in my best Gruber voice). Look at this post to Edmunds on 11/2. Look familiar? Mr. JonJon even posted it there twice on the same day, each time pissing on the OP's parade. JonJon, stick to reviewing your chick flicks on Amazon.

No negatives here, I started with a '97 PSD 7.3L manual trans, traded her in at 287,000 kms, 2 injectors replaced total. Truck was a rock. Went to gas for a few years. I know, I know, W.T.F. Just got my new '06 PSD CC Lariat auto, 10,500 kms now, 2 months old and I am loving it. Everytime I get into it, it just a joy to drive. Sure they have some problems, but I dont let anyone rain on my parade. I just deal with whatever it is. Life's too short for that. Thouroughly having fun in cold Alberta !
As for "popular as herpes", maybe some kind of protection is in order because truckers are always supposed to "tarp their loads"

Like the fit and finish of mine..The only thing I would change would be the seats. I have the captains chairs and when you get into a bumpy off road situation I would like to have a seat that holds me more. They are like a short bench seat with an arm rest. Just add some side support and a little deeper back and that should do it. Aside from that 30k 05' and running strong.
