I am getting about 13-14 mpg on the hwy right now with 24000 miles on it. What can I do to improve the mpg? Is taking it to the dealer a good idea ie reflash? performance mods etc thanks
There is nothing about these trucks and milage that go together. Even at 12, its better than a big block gasser. Seems that most get around 11 - 14 city, and 14-18 highway. Keep in mind you are driving a 7500 lb truck. Guess my advice would be to buy an economy car for driving when you don't need to drive your truck.
is a big truck. It is a 2005 f250 4x4 fx4. The reason I asked is b/c a switched from a 02 chevy silverado duramax 4x4 that got 16.5-18 doing 80mph. On this truck I get 13-14 at 75mph. I was wondering if anyone else had similar mpg and what they did to improve it.

How fast, what type of terrain, do you drive, and do you use Cruse?
I can get 13/16 at 70….I can get 18/ 20.8 at 63…BIG difference
I have an 04 4x4 crew dually w/ 6.0 and get 11-12 around town & 13-14 highway at 70mph. My 97 7.3 got 21 highway and 16 around town with a bamks powerpack on it. It was faster, more powerful and easier to work on than this 6.0.
I agree, it's better to get a little poo-box to drive around to save fuel.
