If you work on your truck even a little bit the few bucks for a shop manual is really the best investment you can make. This site's on-line store has them on CD-ROM and they are very easy to use. I have a '56 manual and I use it every time I work on my F-250. It has all the specs including torque for everything on the engine. As I said, it really is a great investment.
On a 1956 223, the head bolts should be tightened to 75 foot-lbs with the engine hot. I don't know if they were the same on the 1958 223 though I would think they would be.
