piecing together a lift kit for my bronco

I think I've decided, even though my tires fit, that I'd like to have about 4 inches of lift on my bronco.

So this is what I have on my list so far:

Sky Manufacturing shackle flip kit

SJA-174
Lift Springs, Coil-Style, Front, Red Powdercoated, Ford, Bronco/F-100/F-150 Pickup, Pair (4 inches)

SJA-FA300
Pitman Arm, Steel, Ford, Bronco/F-100/F-150, with Power Steering, 4-6 in. Lift, Each (wasn't sure if i needed this or not..)

and then all 6 skyjacker shocks (stupid bronco with its 6 shocks..)

Do I need radius arm drop brackets for 4inches of lift?

Im interested in this aswell because i will be lifting my f-150 soon. From what I have read on this site you dont need the drop pitman arm or radius arms, anyother opinions?

If you do the drop pitman arm, you neeed to lower the trac bar mount.

you dont need the rad arm drop brackets, although it will ride better with them. You can get away with proper degree'd C-bushings.

You would need a drop trac bar bracket, and a drop pitman arm. If you don't put the radius arm drop brackets, then put 7 degree c bushings. You will need to put extended brake lines as well, but if you want to save money then you can buy a 8" hard line and connectors to add onto your existing brake lines for under $10, instead of the $70 for the ss ones.

You don't need the sky shackle flip, you could just use the stock shackle and flip it and get 8 grade 8 bolts and get the same end result for alot cheaper.

I'd probably go with the SS ones, my lines are as old as the truck anyway.

how big of a difference does it make between degreed bushings and drop brackets? If its not going to hinder anything (flex, ride, becoming a death trap..) it seems like it'd be better to have the extra clearance without those brackets hanging down.

How does that work with the stock one, do you know of any write-ups on it?

Not sure what you mean by this.

As far as the radius arm drop brackets, for a 4" lift you don't need them to still have a save driving vehical. As long as you put 7 degree c bushing, you should be good to go for anything.

The 2 rubber or poly bushing in the shape of a C around the radius arm where it bolts to the axle.

i was wondering if you knew of any walk-throughs for doing a shackle flip with stock shackles or a thread of someone doing it. I don't want to go cutting up my suspension without knowing what I'm doing.

you dont NEED a dropped pitman arm but the more parallel your steering is to the axle the better it will steer. also the trac bar needs to be as parallel to the steering linkage from the pitman arm to the pass side knuckle as you can get it. it doesnt have to be perfect but if it gets too far off you'll start gettin bumpsteer.

and i'd leave 2 of those shocks off on the front! if nothing else to save money. if you find later it rides terrible then spend the money but i highly doubt it.

wanna do some reading? go get a cup of coffee and pillow for your back.. sit back and take it all in http://full si zebr onco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17022&highlight=shackle+flip

Like fish said, you don't need all 4 shocks up front.
I just put two behind the coil springs, and left the space for the once infront of the coils empty.

thanks for the tip on the shocks, should save a little money.

Ok, I searched and it seems like a lot of them have problems with axle wrap after doing the shackle flip, is it really that big of a problem?
