Well im in the same situation as your are just bought a 93 F150 reg cab long box i also have the 351 and looking to do the same thing i think im going to go to a muffler shop get a estimate and get duals maybe glasspacks with big piping and chrome tips bigger the pipes more louder i believe take off the cats and put in flowmaster 40's or just take the cats out and leave them that increases the sound by a lot taking cats off so you can either go to a muffler shop which would be more expensive or do it yourself but with the gas mileage of the truck dont know if ill afford it lol i hope

don't discuss violating laws (removing the cats)

anyways, I run a single in, dual out on my truck with 2.5" piping (1994 F-150 longbed single cab with 302/5 speed) and no exhaust tips. cost me about $400 at Midas for all the piping and muffler

it's plenty loud in the cab with the windows up and sounds nice while engine braking. however, you can put a 3" or bigger tip on and it'll be louder than you might want.

I remember when I was 16 and had a Chevy with a 383 stroker and headers and 3" pipes (cop baiters). I could make a car shake when I went by. Fun for sure, but made me get headaches and put my nerves on edge when I had to drive it more than about 20 miles. Just a word of caution.

Loud is nice, but at some point too loud and can also get you a ticket.

try posting in either the exhaust forum or the 1987-1996 trucks forum. you will probably get more feedback

Call me old (almost 39) but your hearing is like your brain cells, you destroy it and it doesn't regenerate. Loud is cool to a point but too loud in my opinion is kinda annoying. Just my .02
