Tried starting the 99 f-150 but no luck. The radio and all lights ect work but when I start it I just here a click..I dont even think i here the starter.
Is there a starter relay I can change or something to see if its that?
might not be the same cause my trucks older. but i had a similar problem that everything worked but it wouldnt start. try wiggling the ground a little and make sure its tight
thats what it sounds like a loose connection im assuming you checkd your battery already and its good. other than loose connection or a dead cell in your battery i would say its the starter

I checked the connection and everything is fine. Can the battery be low enough for it not to start the truck but make all the other things work? Maybe all I need is a boost ..I hope!

Yes, it's true. The battery can have enough to run all things electrical (even headlights) but not enough "oomph" to start the engine.
Check battery voltage. any voltage lower than 12V may cause this to happen.
Jump start or charge the battery then try again.
You did hear a "click" when starting I'd assume the starter relay is okay for now.
it can be possible a dead cell will do that. everything will work fine because its not taking a huge load but if there is a bad cell in the battery, when you try to start the motor and the starter draws all that juice, the battery cant handle it. if possible, put a meter on the battery and check for 12 volts. then have somebody try to start the truck watch the meter and if drops down to like 3 volts or lower, somewhere around there, your battery is bad but if the drop is not real big, I would check the starter out. The silinoid might be bad
well sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt but i would try it if the truck does boost off, take it to the nearest parts house and have them check out the battery. i know autozone has a machine that can check the batt and the starter at the same time good luck to you
Ill probably start looking at the starter now. I brought it to a shop last week to change the alternator..They called me that day asking me if I had a cut off switch because they could'nt start the truck..I tolled them that when I bought the car It didn't come with any transmiters for an alarm and the dealer didn't tell me anything about a cut off switch. he then found a way to start the truck. I just hope the cut off switch reactivated itself some how! I would have to call the shop to know exactly how he got it to start..if its that.
Carefully check the connections at the starter. They corrode and break off sometimes.
You can also try tapping the starter gently with a small hammer and see if that makes it work again. If it does you'll want to replace it as soon as you can because if it died once it will again.
the starter and solenoid are all 1 unit. if the solenoid is sticking, which is what yours sounds like you can try to have someone turn the key to the crank position, while you are under the truck tapping on the starter. you may be able to get it to engage. if this happens you have a bad starter- they are not servicable unfortuantely. so replace it. BUT you could have a problem with the aftermarket crap too... in some cases for remote starts and stuff the procedure is to CUT THE STARTER WIRE FROM THE KEYSWITCH!!! terrible huh, then they connect the cut wires with the wires that go to the module... if there is an open anywhere on that starter wire(usually a yellow wire) and its going to be very obvious if you stick your head under the dash... its a thick gauge wire with about 10 of them strapped together... if any of that has been messed with you could have a problem there. but judging by your symptoms, its the starter. try the hammer thing, its a cheap and easy diagnosis trick.
