My truck was still running rough after a bad batch of biodiesel (my fault). The cackle was in full effect mode and acceleration was weak. I had been running extra fuel additive, tried different brand fuel additive, had drained the tank, changed fuel filters several times, etc. I ran into somebody on a biodiesel forum who had the same problem. His mechanic ran some Howes Lubricator - Meaner Power Kleaner through the motor. Disconnected the fuel pickup and return lines and put them in a container with some of this stuff and let the truck idle for an hour. Then hooked it back up. I tried the same thing. Worked great. My truck runs better than ever.
I know this product may not be specifically designed for this kind of use, and I was a little freaked out doing it, especially with just a post by some guy on the internet, but it worked great. I know Diesel Purge is another option available... but found out after the fact.
You can achieve the same (although smaller) effect by using the Howe's to refill your filter bowl when you change filters. Kinda gives it a "KLEEN" shot lol
