This is what I think of lifting kits, useless unless for extreme pro offroading or for looks. Stock suspension is the way to go for 90% of fun off roading. if needed just get new springs and coils with new monroe shocks. B2's have great suspension for off roading.

good advice dryfire, thanks. my issue is tyre clearance. im about to order a spare set of wheels so i can keep the bronco on the road and swap wheels when i go off roading. so im thinking if i get a set of 16 inch rims and some mug plugging tyres it should be very capable then but my issue would then be clearance of the wheel arch. what do you think? i reckon i could be looking at a 28 inch wheel after a tyre is fitted.

If it will clear, I think it would look good if you shave the fenders and add flares. If not then go with a lift. Use a suspension lift rather than a body lift, due to the B2's already high CG. Also if your B2 has rear antilock, it might mess up if your tire and wheel circumfrance changes. (Sorry for the spelling errors)

ahh soo much to learn about off roading. its small fry here in the UK due to lack of open land and red legal tape. how would i know if the B2 has rear antilock and what is 'rear antilock' is that diff related?

buy the way loving the idea of shave and flare. got to be the cheapest option too.

if you have anti lock brakes, you will have what looks like a small box with an electric motor atatched to it placed inside the frame next to the left rear wheel, it will have the rear brake line going in and out of it with a bleeder. Anti lock brakes are so the rear wheels wont lock up due to less weight in the rear during a hard stop. It uses a wheel speed sensor in the rear diff to constantly check the speed of the wheels. If you have larger or smaller wheels then the sensor will send bad readings to the ABS computer. and just screw it up. That is why stock is better for most of the driving you should get. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. I am ASE certified in brakes.

I actually purchased the complete lifted vehicle off ebay. I've since put the BFG M/Ts on it. That bumper is home made..something i threw together real quick since i needed the winch to pull out some old shrubs. It's a mile marker 8000 lb winch. I had a Bronco II before this one which i rolled wheeling..came home and looked on ebay for another and got this. It had a bad transmission in it so i swapped the trans from the rolled in into it. Then it needed a oil pump so i pulled the motor, cleaned it good, put a new oil pump in it along with new heads since the old ones were bad. As far as driving it on road it seems to drive pretty good. When you do lift and go bigger tires like that you deffinately need a heavy duty steering stabilizer in the front. I only use my Bronco II for offroading and plowing snow..other then that it stays on the trailer. Here is the link to the video of my last Bronco II ..it's my rollover video.

I agree , It does look good. But my B2 is an everyday driver. As for flares, do you have any boneyards you can get parts from? I found a set of thick rubber flares off of an old CJ and with some grooming they fit nicely. I am sure you could make just about any flares work. I call it "Back yard enginering". I live In Washington County Maine and there are all kinds of great trails here, so someday I to will make a good offroader out of my B2.
