Hello all, as I sit here in Wisconsin and look outside and see the 13 degrees on my thermometer, I am prompted to find out if i am able to switch out my front seats in my 2000 F-250, 5.4, Crew Cab,Lariat? I have the captains seats, also I have power to the seats for the other controls and I would like to find out how much of a job this would be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Tim go online to ebay and you can find seat heaters there. You'll have to install under seat covers. All you'll have to do is bring a fuseable power source and find a place to mount switches. This will be much cheaper than buying new seats. that's my $.02
I believe the seat itself can just be swapped out, should use the same power source on it. The heater control is on the seat, self contained, the seat looks identical except for the control on it. I could be wrong on this, but it sounds logical.
Check thids website out. I am currently shopping for a new crew cab. If it doesn't have heated seats I plan to give these guys a call http://www.heatedseatkits.com/products.php
Hey all thanks for the replies, after lookin around i think I am going to go with the heated seat kits ones. They look like an east retrofit and the prices are really reasonable.
Forddiehard...I live in appleton, wi. I have been doing business with a local mobile audio/video store for ten years now and know the owner pretty good. Tuesday a am going in and they are going to help put heaters in my lariat leather seats. I am paying 350 bucks for the two heaters to be installed. They said it is really time consuming taking the leather off of the seats, alot of little clips holding it on. They said some can be difficult but mostly time consuming. I am also hooking them up to my remote start on a relay so when i start the truck the seats come on. Good luck with yours

Great link dude... If I didn't have heated seats...thats definately the direction I would go. And yeah...that switch looks factory!
ponch I have my heated seats hooked up so when I press the trunk button on the remote starter fob the seats turn on. If you have that button on your remote you might want to do it that way so in summer the seats don't heat up if you remote start the truck.
Hey guys just a quick thanks for all the ideas, I hope to order these things soon and after that I will try to put some pix up on the site for all to see of the install.
