egt?

egt?

Today my egt went to 1000 /1100 deg going 50 mph empty on a level 4 lane.I changed the tune back to stock but it didnot help.[Dp-tuner]The truck was getting low on fuel so I stoped to fill it and the egt would not cool down below 800 deg, soI shut it off and put fuel in it.When I restarted it the egt was ok again.200/300 deg when Idialing and 500/600 when cruising at 60 mph.Could it have been sucking air in the fuel line causing this problem? or is there something wrong with my diprocal gauge?It seems to be ok now.

were you runnin on E.
i really cant see running lean due to lack of fuel making EGT run that high.....but stranger stuff has happened. Did you start out driving and they just went up, or were you driving for a while and then they went up/ gauge malfunction is possible,
but i dont think it would have fixed itself....i would just keep monitoring it to be sure.

Gauge malfunction. There's no way it would sit at idle at 800 degrees.

I am not sure if it went up all of a sudden or not because I was not paying that much attention,as I was not towing.I will just wait and see what it dose,but I have to pull a 14000 lbs 5th wheel from Ohio to florida at the end of the month.It would be nice if I could relie on it.sorry not much of a speller.

just a thought, was it cold, EBPV would see high temps if you heard the hissss and lack of power
