Do you guys ever have problems in cold weather with your accelerator sticking? It just started getting cold here in Indiana. When I started the Ranger today and pressed the accelerator my engine started to lunge. Any suggestions on preventing this problem? Thanks for taking the time to respond to my message. I have a 2001 Ford Ranger with a 5 speed manual.
I had this happen a few times back in july, before i had my kit installed. never figured it out, but it was a serious problem, because i was in forth gear and couldn't shift out. cop pulled me over for doing 85. cut the engine, pulled over and showed him that my throttle was sticking. he let me go, and called a tow sation for me, but by the time they go there, my problem was gone. i just messed with the accelerator till it left lose and waas normal. never did it again that bad, and only once or twice more. the temp was about 76 deg f, so i don't believe cold has anything to do with it.
