Torque 300 vs 302?

I know this probably has been discussed numerous times, but i wasn't able to find it anywhere. I've also searched the internet for torque specs...but haven't been able to find it either.
Thanks,
Brad

Are you looking for stock specs for a certain year, performance potential, max number at any rpm, towing cap etc?

Hi Matt,

I guess just stock torque output for like two mid 80's (carbed) and possibly two late 80's/ early 90's FI. If you have anymore info besides torque that would be great also.
Thanks,
Brad

The 302 is a great motor, in a car. It has an over square design and was intended to be used in light, fast sports cars where it really shines. If you're looking for low range pulling the 302 just doesn't have it.

Ok those numbers are very helpful. I just recently purchased a 76 f150 300-6 4 spd to use as a plow truck. I also own a 93 f150 5.0 5 spd and a 94 bronco 5.0 auto. I haven't had the plow truck long enough nor towed anything with it yet to compare it with my two 5.0L's. I haven't been very impressed with the gas mileage or the tugging power of my 5.0's though.

Torque for the fuelie 300s were 260-265 pending on the set up
Torque for the fuelie 302s were 270-285 pending the year and set up

Torque for the mid 80s 300 was 220-250 pending on the year and set up
Torque for the mid 80s 302 was 220-250 pending on the year and set up

it just depended on which options and year it was from. in the early 80s the 300 had more torque than the 302...

Here are the specs for 1981:
300: 122 hp @ 3000 rpm 255 ft. lb. torque @ 1400
302: 133 hp @ 3400 233 ft. lb. torque @ 2000

Specs for 1996:
300: 150 hp @ 3400 265 ft. lb. torque @ 2000
302: 205 hp @ 4000 275 ft. lb. torque @ 3000

I know you didn't ask for horsepower numbers, but they were there so I thought I would add them just for fun!
