Remote door locks not working
Hey all,
The remote door locks in my 98 Explorer XLT stopped working the other day.
I'm pretty sure it is NOT the battery in the fob as it has recently worked from 100+ feet away.....I can't see it going dead all at once.
I did recently have the truck rust proofed and I'm wondering if they've knocked a wire off the receiver antenna with one of the rods. I can't remember using it immediately after but I don't think it's worked since.
Problem is I have no idea where the antenna is located. Anybody have an idea?
Thanks

Have you tried reprograming the remotes?
This is the procedure for the 98 to 01 Explorers, cycle iginition from off to run 8 times within 10 sec, ending in run, all doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode, press any button on the 1st remote transmitter. door locks will cycle(lock then unlock) to confirm programming. to program additional remotes - press any button on the next remote(upto 4 total possible) locks will cycle again. turn iginition off. locks will again cycle to indicate the end of the programming mode.
