Could only shift to 4x4 low range only....
Hey guys! The other days I left out in my Bronco. 351W; C-6 tranny. I got a few hundred yards from the house when the shifter fell into 4x4 HI. (I had moved it to 4 HI reaching around it to get something in the floor and then moved it back to 2 HI before I left). It seemed like I just put the tranny in neutral. I stopped and couldn't get it to move again. Nothing in 2HI or 4HI. I would only move in 4 LOW. I could hold the brake while in the HI range and see the drive shaft wiggle between drive and reverse but would not move. I tried all ranges, shifting w/ and w/o engine running. I finally drove back in 4 low and parked it. I started it up about 10 minutes later in 2 HI and worked again. I have been scared of messing with the 4x4 and getting stranded since. What's going on? Any ideas?

Yes, My hubs were unlocked, but I don't know why that would make a difference trying to get the transfer case back into 2HI or 4HI to just to get the truck back into gear. I couldn't get the truck to move unless I put it in 4 LOW.
