305/65/18 BFG AT's

305/65/18....Anyone running them? I initially ordered 285/65/18 but they aren't available until mid January. Because Ford had already sold me the tires, they gave me these at a pretty good price and offered to calibrate my speedo(Usually 75$cdn) He assured me they wouldn't rub at stock height, but I'm kinda worried. They're almost 34" tall! I guess the worst that could happen would be to install a leveling kit. Think they'll rub?

I run 325 60r18 Nitto Terra Grapplers, I got a little rubbing even with the leveling kit. All I had to trim was about a quarter inch of plastic on each side and no more rubbing. Take a look at my gallery, it looks pretty good.

I'm running them with a leveling kit. No rubbing at all. Without the leveling kit, hmmm, I can't see them fitting without some rubbing.

Well, I'll let you know at 2pm! Hopefully they don't rub too bad until I get a leveling kit. Michigunman how wide are your wheels, and what are they. Truck looks awesome!

I am getting ready to order those same tires myself. Will a 2" leveling kit be enough or should I go with the 2.5"? If a 2" will fit I would rather go with that so that when I tow trailers I am not sitting nose up.

Happy Trucking!

The wheels are 8.5" wide. They are MB Motoring Blitz, from Discount Tire.

I can't say for sure on the 2" but seems there is plenty of room on mine with 2.5". Can't see the extra half inch making that much difference. My truck still sits about 1" lower in the front anyway with the 2.5" Daystar kit.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the help. I thought you might of had more than the 2.5 Dayster. Have you towed anything yet with your truck? Does it sit real nose high or is it pretty level? Going to order this stuff soon.

Thanks.

Only thing I tow (so far) is a boat and jet ski's, nothing very heavy or with much tongue weight. Not much to go on there.

Great thanks. I am going to order the Daystar 2.5" and then wheels as well. Did you buy the tires from tire rack?

Tires are installed. They do not rub at all. Not much room to spare and they look awesome! For anyone wanting to know how big they can go totally stock.

Josh,
Did you mount them on factory 18" rims?

Yes I did. I thought I might need a wider wheel but the guys at Ford assured me the stock wheels were fine. I've already got a few compliments.
