I havent check the Tech Folder recently but with my 04 I had the High Idle switch rigged in that one. Does the 06 have the High Idle. My next thread to check.....

.8gph at hot idle sounds just about dead-on.

.8 times the 9 hours mine idled would be 7.2 gallons, which is right on 1/4th capacity of my 29 gallon tank.

Actually good stuff to think about if any of us ever get stcuk in a snow storm or some such travesty....

2 1/2 days between avalanches a few years ago. Sucks when there is only one road in/out of town.....

Looks like the High Idle will work so I'll try it on the truck so I can kick up the idle to 1200. HMMM new question what is the fuel consumption at those rpm's?????

Sorry I forgot to put that in. I've done the high idle mod, and at about 1200 it was about 1.6 GPH.
