I have an '07 F-250 PSD CC. I can't find the darn engine block heater plug. The manual shows it should be next to the passenger fog lamp but that is where the tow hook is locaated. Can someone help me out, maybe show a pic?
Not all SD come from the factory with the Block Heater cord installed. The Block heater cord is an option in all state Except AK,CO, IA, ME, MN, MT, ND, SD, WI, WY.
All PSD motors have the block heater element installed at the factory you just need to buy the cord. Cheaper at your local International dealer than Ford (BTW International calls the 6.0 a VT365). Also you can purchase from one of the FTE vendors like Discount Ford Parts.
It took me forever to find mine the first time, so I know how it goes.
It should be near the passenger side fog lamp, but probably more like behind it. See if you can get at it through the opening in the bumper or maybe from underneath through the little grille thing above the front air dam.
Given your location, I trust that your truck will have come through with the block heater cord. The cord runs from a freeze plug near the passenger side rear of the engine up the frame and out near that fog light. You can probably spot a little orange section of it through your passenger side front fender. Maybe tracing it forward from there will help you find it if my other general area advice won't.
I checked my invoice and it says it came with the EBH and I am in Colorado. OK, I am pretty sure I located the plug. If I look through the grill on the driver side I see a cord strapped vertically along the edge of the radiator. I does look like a plug with some kind of plastic cap that has threads on the top. The problem is that I have the Chrome Package and the grill has very narrow openings (like the HD grill). There is no way to get your hand in there from top or bottom of the vehicle so I just can't get to it without trying to dismantle something. Any advice?
You can take it back to the dealer and they will get it out for you...
The cord may not be wrapped tightly in there. You should be able to reach it near the tow hook or from under the bumper. Did you try just pulling on it to see if it is loose?
Here is a link to a picture in "Lonewolftx" gallery of the plug you are looking for, and it should be on the passenger side of the truck, up by the tow hook and behind the bumper/grill.
