As some of you know I have been gradully "rebirthing" a 1957 Ford.
If you can do basic math youwill know that it would be 50 years old next year.
My question how can I find out where and possibly the date mine was built.
If I am able to find this out I will drive my 57 to the factory it was made on the date it was made.
Any ideas it would be really cool to do this I think exactly for a 50th birthday.
i though when i was looking through i belive the 73-79 forum and i think even back to the fifties trucks, that you could read it out of the vin or serial number, but im not 100% on that, least not on something this old, id check on the fifties forum
It will be in the serial numer, I don`t know how to decode it but if you repost this in the 48/60`s forum I`m sure that someone will give you the answer.
Are you back home and if so how long?
If Ford of Canada can`t help how about a Mercury web site?
If not Snowking can always pm the Colonel, it maybe the easiest way. The info has to be out there somewhere, just a matter of finding it.
Ford of Canada. Remember I told you I had gotten build sheets from Ford just like your Mustang one? I should send in some more vins, got 47 Mercury 1 ton, 48 Mercury M-3 and another 51 Mercury M-3. Maybe the vin off the tow truck if I can find it.
Most of that iformation was written in chalkish substance behind the motor on the firewall some of mine wore off. If found out Thursday b checking out the time set on our Television.
