Advancing the fuel injection times increases the RPMs, so all the computer has to do is kick the timing up a little bit to raise the idle if need be.

Since the 7.3 has no throttle plate, there is no need to route air around it with an IAC

At worst, you will have eliminated the most likely culprit and can get on with the troubleshooting and have a spare. Best case, problem solved, and time to get another CPS to have on hand. It definately sounds like the CPS is faulty.

$50-$60 bucks! where? I'll buy 50 of them!

F7TZ12K073A LIST $187.20 FTE $101.09

Am I mistaken, or is there an IHC version of the CPS available for a lot cheaper than Ford?

You might want to try a heavy-duty truck parts house. No matter what, it's gotta be cheaper than Ford.

Truck stuble may be the ipr nut or its just dirty. Im looking for the directions again on this site on the ipr cleaning and tools required. I cant remember which deep socket we need. Cheaper alternative then the cps. Good preventative maintainance anyway,
