As I recall, the antenna is a grid that is part of one of the rear quarter windows. Forget which side... I do recall that the radio performance of my old 00 'Gator was adequate but nothing to write home about.
Have you verified that the antenna is properly connected to the head unit and that it is not unplugged anywhere along the way?
Is there an aftermarket A/V component added that may have inserted an RF modulator into the antenna lead?

Thanks for the info. I will take a closer look at the connection to the rear window.
Yes, there is a TV and Video system installed (aftermarket probably), but don't know where the RF modulator would be located. The TV reception is poor as well.
