I have to replace the dust shields on the front of my 97 F250HD 4x4 truck , the chiltons says to remove the spindle to knuckle bolts then carefully remove spindle, I cannot get the spindle to budge.Any suggestions or tricks?

 

never mind i got them off . just used a 2 jaw puller and a brass bfh..

 

I have a spindle puller for a slide hammer that threads on where the spindle nut goes and work the slide hammer. What I have done before I had this tool a big hammer and a block of hard wood and pound on the spindle between the 2 bearing surfaces and work it back and forth to break it loose. Be carefull and take your time and you will get it loose. If you are keeping this truck clean it up good and put anti seeze on it during assembly and if you go there again it will not be such a project to do.
