Exclamation fuel gauge please help

ok im a new diesel owner and am actually still on my first tank of diesel from the dealer, but yesterday i noticed i got to my father's ranch and my fuel gauge was at half way between 1/4 and full, but maybe im just not used to the truck yet but making the trip back home last in traffic and flow, was about a 40 mile trip my fuel gauge didnt change at all. it worked from the full level on down, but im going to run it today and check but i would hate to run out of fuel on the road, and just another question i have a nxlt model can i buy and add the overhead console that gives readings for emg and fte? thanks for any help.

you dont want that mileage computer as even ford says they lie. if you are parked on an incline with the nose down, you will read less fuel. just fill it up, and go by the trip reading.

sorry for the paranoia everything is fine did what bowtiehatr said and added fuel to calculate if added from point, i just wasnt expecting to get such good milaege, so far since leaving the lot have 600 miles and still a quarter tank left, plus first thing i did at day one was add a 4 inch turbo back exhaust and air raid cool air intake and a set of pillar gauges to monitor the egt, boost and trans. so again thanks for the site and any help for this rookie is appreciated.
