I have a seal on the hpop leaking I am being told it is a non servicable seal and the only way to get rid of the oil leak is to repalce the hpop. the original owner who I bought it from in may said he had it in for the oil leak while it was under warrenty and chose not to fix it. I was going to see if it was on record and then try to push ford to help with paying to fix it. I am sure it is a long shot but figured it was worth a try.

If he chose not to fix it then there would be no claim and thus no record at Ford. You would have to check the actual dealer record. It would be a warranty issue with the original owner anyway and I doubt Ford would cover it out of warranty to a subsequent owner.

I agree on the ford not covering it but thought it might be worth a call, I was told the hpop is about 500 bucks, does anyone know where I can get the part number to look it up to see for sure?

CHecked record to 2001 and there is only one oil leak issue and not consistent with your situation. This was way back in 2002
