Well,the wife is complaining about the 14 foot grainbed that I took off my F600.I want to sand it some more and stain it and put it on the 53 F600 ,when I get it out of storage.The 56 is going to get a aluminum(HOPEFULLY) or steel 17-19 foot bed.Might make it a tilt/roll-off,but might just use ramps.The grain bed is heavy and built to last.For 50 yrs.old it is nice.Is there a market for these?Anyone have a used but nice 17-19 ft.bed?Maybe wife will buy it for CHRISTMAS.

Good luck on the Xmas plans, hope it happens for you. How would your wife ever hide THAT 17/19 footer under the tree? 
As for selling the used grain bed, good luck there too as it maybe a slim market for it. Maybe a swap would work?

Northern Classic Trucks used to sell complete reproduction Ford beds in the $3000-4000 range. Their site doesn't list them any more. I bought a really nice used 9' Ford bed, with all of the mounting hardward for $200 about two years ago. I figure it was a great deal, all of the wood is rotted but somehow none of the metal hardware was lost after all these years.

The wood is in superb shape--unreal for 50 years,but is was barn kept and in Georgia.I will probably install it on the 53 F600,and still want the aluminum bed for the 56.Bigwin's looked cool.I had the idea 5-6 years ago,and then saw his and knew I wasn't crazy--although others might not agree!!!!I want to haul my 63 Avanti-289 supercharged Studebaker on the 56,and then buy a 6 cylinder 56 F100 to restore just like my 1st truck,if I don't locate my original truck--it is listed on want ads..Anyone seeing a 383 dodge in a 56 truck let me know---I have seen 3 so far and not it yet.I moved the grainbed today beside the barn---maybe the wife won't look there!!!!
