My friend and his dad has a set of 06 SD's 6.0 liters. They want to gain some horsepower by chip or programmer and install a exhaust and intake. What type of power module do you guys recommend for the 06 6.0?
Thanks in advance.

didnt we go over this in another list? it seems like the best is the sct tuner. mbrp has a great 4 inch set of pipes, and leave the stock air filter its the best.
SCT or SCT Custom for the Scary Edge of performance.
MBRP 4" Exhaust
AFE OEM replacement filter element, stock replacement filter is about 80 bucks...the AFE can be cleaned and fits into the stock filter housing you already have.

Follow BowTieHatr advice to the letter. And what ever you do, Do Not remove the stock intake and replace it with an A/M system. All of the A/M intake systems will do No good for your truck and Will harm the turbo and engine.
Cheap and dirty SCT custom tuned striaght pipe it and your done. you can do the orther stuff exhaust intakes nitrous later. But to get a quick taste install gauges and a custom SCT and cutout the muffler.

You have the same opinion of A/M intakes on 7.3's?

For the most part yes.
Problem with most A/M intake systems is they make outrages claims about increasing Torque & Hp with a simple air filter change. Most of the time even in a racing situation the claims don't hold up. Also in order for the A/M filter to increase air flow through the filter media, you have to increase the hole size in the filter media, thus you let in more dirt.
I do agree with "BowTieHatr" that the factory 7.3 intake was poorly designed.
For the 7.3 crowd there now is a Donaldson Powercore intake system available. Which will give the 7.3 crowd the great filtration and flow benefits of the Powercore system.

Hope this helps
Well too late I guess. I replaced it with a AFE stage 2 and straight piped her with a 4" Monster from Banks. I dont feel it hurt the performance any. It sure sounds better
