Need chip or programmer advice

My friend and his dad has a set of 06 SD's 6.0 liters. They want to gain some horsepower by chip or programmer and install a exhaust and intake. What type of power module do you guys recommend for the 06 6.0?
Thanks in advance.

If you add a tuner, you better also be planning on installing gauges as well as replacing the head gaskets with aftermarkets sooner or later.

Don't worry about your head gaskets. But you better install some guages (pyro, trans., boost?). I have the SCT on my '06, and I love it. I know you have a trans. temp guage already, but it is more like an idiot light, your either good, or you trashed your tranny. The only reason to worry about head gaskets, is if you plan on running more than about 30 pounds of boost, which you will not get if you just do an exhaust and tuner. The best tuner on the market for the 6.0's is the SCT, hands down. If you look around on this site a little you will read that there is a lot more people that have the SCT than any other programmer. You should post this in the 6.0 diesel section, you'll get a better response there.

Yeah i made a mistake and realized it after I posted it here. Are you referring to the Superchips when you say SCT?

Yeah, it's made by superchips, but everybody knows it as SCT. It stands for Superchips Custom Tuner. Talk to Eric of Ted at Innovative Diesel about the tuner, they specialize in the 6.0 liter, Eric has been a big help for me, and you can ask them anything and they will usually get back with you within an hour or two.
