I was towing a pickup on a 18" flat bet total weight about 6500 lbs. Going about 60 to 75 I would get this vibration that would last about a min. then everything was fine then it would come back in about 10 min. This went on for 200 miles. I live in south FL so it happened on smooth blacktop. When not towing it never happens. Plus this is the first time I towed with the SD. Truck is a 2WD 06 SD with a 6.0 super cab and a LWB with about 6000 miles on it. It was definitely not coming from the front end. What do you guys think. Thanks
Just a shimmy in the back end? Quite possibly some shakes and bouncing was tranfered forward from the trailer. Trailer suspention aren't nearly as nice as trucks have become. Plus with the diesel and at speed, you couldn't hear it if the trailer was cracking and banging around.
Don't know if that's your problem, but it is very likely.
No I cant feel the AC compressor when it kicks in. And I don't hear it I feel it. If you were to put a cup of water in the cup holder on the dash with it about 1/4 full and going on a smooth road everything would be fine but when it starts to vibrate it would empty the cup.
I've noticed that when I don't take my boat out for a couple of months, I get this horrible vibration the next time that I take it out. After a few miles it disappears. I figured that it was the trailer and/or the tires on the trailer. Trailers normally have bias ply tires and are sometimes succeptible to flat spotting as they age.

How much does the weight lower the rear of your truck? It could be a carrier bearing (swing bearing) trying to go south on you. Chock the tires, crawl up under it, and see if the rubber around the carrier bearing looks ragged, worn, rough.
