Dennis, keep that cold air up there for a while longer. It was 55 degrees here yesterday and is supposed to be a high of 20 by Thursday. I'm not ready for winter yet.

I wonder if Goodyear Eagle GT-II's or Mastercraft AVENGER GT's are all weather tires?

Word I got this evening is that Memphis may have snow on friday. OOPS! Well there went four hundred bucks that just might prove to be totally and completely useless...

Doggone, now!

I bet the Goodyears would be better than some in snow and ice. A few years ago I had some Dunlop HPS tires (no siping at all) on my (decently) high powered manual tranny Dakota w/ no extra weight. The fact that they are pretty wide didn't help but, needless to say, I had about the worst combo you can have for ice. It was fun until I went into a parking lot on a light incline. It sat there for about a day and a half until the ice melted.

Just curious Dennis, what is your comfort level as far as outside temp goes. Myself, being used to the southern climate I get cold at a bone chilling 65* f.
How far does the temp have to drop to make you put on a jacket?

I still dwell on my experiences with an 89 Taurus wagon and an extra 20 Cm of tire..

ONE DROP of water on the road, and it would emulate Miss Budwieser running at Mission Bay...

My comfort level varies due to my condition.

I wear shorts every day of the year unless it is Mind numbing cold like today.
Sometimes ....Other people are in parkas at the same time.

Yet, when I was in Kansas in August 2005, it had just started to cool down to about 85*F after being around 100*. I was fine and a couple of Kansas FTE'Rs commented that "The Canadian" was fine or OKay.... in this heat

I was born on ther hottest day of the year in July of 1950 in prarie Saskatchewan at 107* F

I when thru Vegas in June 1980 Temp as 108*F......I was fine unless I when into an Air Conditioned place.

Truth of the matter is , I'm not a weather guy I usually couldn't care less what the weather is doing ...... and it drives people nuts.

Basically my favourite conditions outside are: 72-76* *F slightly cloudy with a light breeze.

Prime Golfing weather.

Seattle was perfect when I was there last Year in Sept.

Alberta is a dry climate so we don't get the Bone Aching cold like they do in

Ontario with that Humid Cold that gets right into your bones.....ask matt

It has already started warming up in Calgary (60 miles south) and By the weekend will be about 0*C or warmer.

Calgary Ab
Tonight
Clear. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light near midnight. Low minus 29. Extreme wind chill minus 42.
Wednesday
Sunny. Wind up to 15 km/h. High minus 17. Extreme wind chill minus 40 in the morning. Wednesday night..a few clouds. Increasing cloudiness near midnight. Wind becoming west 20 km/h overnight. Temperature rising to minus 5 by morning.
Thursday
A mix of sun and cloud. High zero.
Friday
A mix of sun and cloud. Low minus 13. High minus 3.
Saturday
Sunny. Low minus 12. High minus 3. Normals for the period..low minus 11. High zero.

That's the thing it doesn't dig in and stay .....like it does in Edmonton and North .

I like any temperature outside that allows me to wander around with no clothes on indoors and not need more electric heaters.

-Now if you think about that, it isn't a lewd statement! Got out of a shower soaking wet lately?

I bet it shook you if your heaters let you down, didn't it?

Gotta figure - I live alone and in the country. It isn't strange for me to walk to the laundry room to get a pair of shorts, I can do that.

The only thing I consider bad is getting in my truck and seeing shampoo on my head in the rear view mirror....

correction: Bridgestone HPS

Excellent summer tire. Miles ahead of my BFG T/A's inthat regard. Shed deep water like it was nothing, handled well and were nice and sticky. Ice though, no way.
