After changing air filter on my 04 6.0L powerstroke I got code P0603 WHY? I check on the tech folder and it showed INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE KAM ERROR What does this mean? Anyone ever have this code?
Thanks,
Stroker04
I Google'd it. I found it can be caused by disconnecting the battery, by the tuner itself, or the PCM. I also found it almost always means nothing. I am not a tech and did not stay in a Holiday Inn last night.
more than likely it came from your tuner. bad thing about a 6.0 and p0603 is it affects shift points, fuel mileage, and your air conditioning by a cycling strategy in the pcm. now stroker, do you know if you have the 03 style engine or the late build. look for the icp sensor on the right valve cover if you dont know. if you have the 03 style, you need to get your tuner updated, because it is going to effect your vgt learn cycle.
Hey guys thanks for all the help I did have to remove my drives side postive battery cable to get the air filter housing out {very tight} I did clear the code and it has not come back after driving it today. You think the air filter would be alittle easier to get out and back in on these trucks. I can tell you guys that I replace my air filter with the K&N but after I heard about the turbo dusting and engine dusting put my factory air filter back in. But my not going to mess up my engine by using a air cleaner that does not filter the air as good. I do think my exhaust temps went up just a little after changing back the factory air filter.

hey we have this code in our historical log. we have an 04 f350 6.0 and it has horrible fuel economy(21L/100km) just like you stated in your post, the a/c doesn't seem to turn off while not in the a/c on settings, and shift points i can not say if they are wrong or not. we do not have a tuner and were looking into one to possibly help with the fuel economy as well as see more info about the truck. i do have a bluetooth odb and have the torque app so i can see some stuff. do you think that this code might be to blame for the issues we are experiencing? or do you think there is something different wrong? i know its historical but thought it might be something. does the fuel economy sound right?
