When I was looking at "X"s on Ebay.there was one that was raised with huge tires and all the chrome that ANY person could want and he had a pair of Kicker speakers in the rear doors..I think that there was one 15" or bigger (I think bigger) in each door and several smaller ones.. He had several DVD players as well..I think that gut had around $75,000 in upgraded and the car and I believe that he got around $40,000.. That goes to show you that you can't always get back what you put into a rig..If you want to see some different applications Ebay is one place to see them..
I am also thinking of either replacing my speakers or the radio unit or both.. If I replace the radio, are the stock speakers enuff to support a reasonable replacement unit.. I wuzn't thinking of 300 watts or anything like that, just a better sounding unit..
Although I am new to owning an Excursion, I am not new to listening to and installing stereo equipment in homes and autos. If you are going to replace the radio you had better replace your speakers. Replacing the speakers is the cheapest and easiest way to make your system sound better. After you replace the speakers then you can decide if you still want to replace the radio. If you replace the radio without replacing the speakers, you're not going to like the way it sounds. Definitely replace the speakers first.
i was thinking 12 inch subs I have 2 on hand and using the factory head unit as long as I can stand it,
I will upgrade all the stock speaker 1 set at a time for the next year, begining with the front.
How many speakers are in an X? I have thought about speaker upgrades. Will changing speakers of the same size to keep the stock appearance make a big improvement? Thanks JOHN
