89 Radio Interchange Question
My 89 factory radio is fried. I want to replace with a factory radio. Can anyone tell me for sure if a 92 will fit it, or what years will. I had a 92 at one time and the radio was the same except for a rewind button I believe. I want to just take the old radio cassette player out and slid the other one in. I found an 89 but the 92 looks to be in better shape. I thought almost all the 150's , vans and rangers used the same radios. Anyone with experience?

Radios from 89 thru 94 Rangers should be able to interchange. The dash design was all the same for those years eventhough the body design changed. You could use one from an Explorer of those years too.

Check the plug-ins at the back of the radio. I have a '91 (built near the end of the model year) and needed to replace the radio. The one that the bone yard had, according to their book, did not have plugs that matched my wiring harness.
