Alright my headlights are dull and need replacing. So I am looking at getting 04-07 headlights. What do I need? I don't want to change the grill or bumber. Just the headlights. So, I don't really need a kit to change out everything. Do I need different wiring harnesses. Hopefully there is a painless way to do this. Also what is your opinion on Silverstar bulbs?
Meguires makes a plastic polish called "plastic X", i use it in combination with silverstars. I ve been using it on my headlights for two years now. My truck is a 99 and my head lights look brand new. Much cheaper than buying the new headlights and harness. I even use it on my brakelights, third brake light and turn signals. I apply it three times to start seeing a difference. Keep aplliying it until youre happy. my .02
I've used a similar product to the Megiuars that pullin mentioned. It helped some, but the main difference in lighting came fron the silverstars I put in. If your goin for looks then by all means get an upgraded set (I wish I had the cash to do it) but if you just want better lighting get yourself silverstars, the difference is like night and day
i just purchased some new headlights from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-04...55728018QQrdZ1
they look really nice too only problem i had was that i had to use a dremel to cut away some of the plastic on the truck for the built in fog lights to fit in. the fog lights though will be on a seperate switch enless you wire it to your headlight switch.
I just put in the silverstars because I thought that my headlights were dim on my 99. what I found is that when I pulled the old bulbs they were all fogged up gray which was killing the light output. I could not tell by looking at them without pulling the bulb. Huge difference and I am (for) now happy with the light output.
What about angel eyes? One piece projector incorporates turn signals too. http://www.mytightride.com/foex20crhele.html $350 from this outfit but shop around. HID kit will go nice with them.
I just spent a bunch on APC aftermarket lights. Use the projector for DRLs. The low beams suck but the high are much better than stock. I think with the silverstar bulbs they will even be better. Have them wired where the hi and lo are both on when Hi beams are turned on. Projectors are on all the time but I have a switch to turn them off if I need to.
I went with the new Silverstar Ultras and a heavy duty wiring harness with bigger gauge wire and 2 40amp relays that pull power straight from the battery they work great.Dave

I was going to change over to Silverstars and decided to upgrade the light wiring harness as Dave did. When I completed the harness upgrade, the lights were so dang brighter that I never did install the Silverstars. I'd say look at the harness BEFORE you switch bulbs...you will see a BIG difference and maybe not even have to install Silverstars.
