I plan on swapping out the ttb junk on my 93 f-150 and wanted some input as to what to put in its place. i dont know if i should use a d44 d60, i see all the high pinions and reverse rotation axles around but what works best to do the swap? how well does that work if i keep the coil springs or are leafs a better option? i guess if a found a decent axle with radius arms what other parts would need to be replaced? is the steering gonna line up ect... thanks for any input im sure you guys have answered this one a thousand times already but i coulnd find any threads on it
how hard do you wheel it? A D60 is sure nice, but then you need a sterling 10.25" for the rear. Solid 44s are twice as strong as a TTB D44 IMO. Everyone wants a 60, not everyone swapping to a solid axle actually need one....then again not everyone even needs a solid axle or 4wd even (mallcruisers).
lol, well it has been around for about 10 years and until the past few years they werent too big on paying for memberships.
dont get me wrong, i see where you are coming from but have you noticed all of their sponsors' banners around here?
there was a guy on pirate who figured it up and posted very close numbers on how much they were making and got booted for it. they were making very good money! silly ppl and their stars!
anyways i guess the only thing i really have a question with is if i use the ttb coils can i keep stock brackets? are the coils gonna be straight or cocked? ive decided to go with a 44 from a 77-79 f-100 or 150 so i was wondering about the coils
If you don't plan on going much bigger than 38s a D44 with the right parts will suit you just fine. A buddy of mine wheels a 92 Explorer with a 351w/C6/NP205 and fullsize axles D44/9" stuffed with 5.13 cogs spooled rear and a Power Loc up front. He rolls on 38x19.5 wide Boggers. He is running Moser 35 spline moly shafts all the way around and hasn't broken anything in almost 2 years (he also hasn't dropped his new 408 in yet!) D44s will work fine but D60s are the cats meow.
