I've installed a Cobra 75 WXST in my '05 PSD. Hooked it up directly to the battery (pos and neg.). Physical unit is mounted under the dash beside the steering wheel/fuse panel. Antenna is a glass mount on the rear of the truck.
Install went fine and swr's are ok as well. When I was driving to work today, I had the stereo playing (aftermarket) and went to transmit I got a terrible feedback sound through my audio speakers (all of them). LOUD HUMM.
It's not the CB. It's the inability of the amplifier circuit on the tape/cd player to block the rf coming fdrom your CB. The hum is caused by raw rf getting into the amplifier. Ever had cellphone noise in your stereo when your phone's too close to it? Same thing here.
Options are limited:
-if you're running a linear, turn off the stereo when chatting or don't use the amplifier
-move the CB farther away from the tape/CD player
-move the coax away from the tape/cd player and speaker wires
