i got a remand out of a 90 ford f-150,never started since it was put in,i got it running and pulled it then just this weekend i installed it in my 95 now i got this miss, shaking, spitting out exaust/intake now and then, wires are on correctly according to the 95,but what im wondering is the firirng order for a 90 diffrent than the 95?i checked autozones site for specs, and says the 90 is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8,and the 95 is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.it idles reves up,but when you close the throttle it tries to stall,am i missing something or just a idiot?could it be as simple as the firing order?it has all the parts off the 95,computer,intake sensors and such..is it just me...
The firing order is dependent on the cam. Since it was a reman, they could have put in a cam with either firing order. I'd try the other one, because there are 4 cylinders different between them so you may just be running on 4 right now.
firing order is controlled by the cam... if its a 90 cam then youll need the 90 firing order... and to get the 90 firing order to work youll have to switch the 95 injector wiring order over to the 90 firing order or the gas will be injected out of time and will act like a bad miss... thats what im guessing happened... injector order is wrong for the engine
im going down right now and switch over the wiring to see if it is it.im hoping it is since i do not wish to go through the same crap i did this weekend.i pulled the motor and trans and changed thwe motor, clutch and resealed the trans and now this problem.oh well, hopefully this is it...
the remand was ordered for a 90 ford,so i think that might be the ticket,i hope...
If the 95 is speed density (no mass air sensor) don't bother with the injector wiring. The computer fires four injectors at a time so the order really isn't critical at all. Plug wires yes, injectors, no.
If it is mass air, the injectors are fired sequentially, so there's the potential for problems. Even then I'd try just the plug wires and see if it gets better.
no mass air flow sensor,i switched the plug wires around and works like a charm.i was looking at the torque ftlb on both motors, the 90 has a lower rpm with more torque than the 95,wondering if that is all cam or computer controlled..
oh well, you live and learn something new every day you live!!but stupid is forever!!
