slight engine miss can be heard and felt on passenger side exhaust.
everything new, and set by the book, timing 10 degrees btdc @ 800 rpm vacuum pluged, plugs .035, points 27 degrees, compression 125-130, vacuum 20psi steady. just rebuilt eng. what am i missing??? HELP! PLEASE!
Not sure i understand the question, the cam is suposed to be a mild midrange cam i don't rember the numbers, and i don't what size the valves are either, heads were just rebuilt and already had to pull them off once after the rebuild because of no.8 intake valve was stuck open, engine is bored 30 over if that helps?
Are any rockers on that side making any noise?
I take it the cam amd lifters are new....did you brake them in?
I wonder about the heads...why did the #8 intake valve stick open? Guide too tight?
Are the valve springs new or where they checked?
with it running pull one plug wire at a time off the cap until you find the one thats skipping. Pull one, if you get another skip put it back on and pull another until you get the one that doesnt add a skip. thats the hole we are looking for...
No. 8 was bent, i think it's because when the machineist is done with a head he checks it with a hammer, smacks the valve stem, i saw him do this when he fixed the stuck valve.
as for the lifters you asked if i primed them? not sure if this considered priming but i squirted them and everything else with a mixture of half motor oil and half stp?
not sure, he was supposed to check and replace what ever was needed, and there is a rattle that i can't pinpoint, sounds like maybe the lifters?
I think i'm going to have to just pull the heads again?
we need to find the hole thats skipping so we can look at those rockers, we need to make sure they are opening the valves properly. I'd do the plug wire test then pull the valve cover off that side with the dead hole, then check the rockers when it's running. you might have one thats not opening the valve.
