hey , im looking into buying a bronco, but ive always told they guzzle gas, and no im not being a cheap *** guy here. i was wondering cause my uncle is offering me his early 80's bronco, but right now im driving a 1981 f250 with a 400 under the hood, the bronco shouldnt use more gas then the f250 should it?
Of course it will suck down gas, its a full size FORD. You will not see much difference in MPG. Maybe + 1 or 2 in the FSB, if that much. Take the Bronco.
give it a good tune up and see what you get mileage wise. My 96/5.8 gets 12.42 mpg, I don't care its a Bronco.
lol, i dont care about the gas milage really, unless its jsut that bad, like 100-200 a tank. i can get 300 out of my f250. i just dont have too big of a budget i get paid 10.50 an hour lol
Broncos have 32 gallon tanks at 12 mpg, thats about 384 miles per tank. not that good, but it is what it is. Some guys get up to 15 mpg, I think that is not as common as 12-13. No matter what your income is, gas prices are tough for everyone. So, do what you feel like doing and enjoy it.
They aren't the best on gas, b/c they aren't light, but it should get alittle better than your F250, and it has 4wd.
Some Broncos have a 25 gallon tank, but either way, it's not often people get under 12 mpg, unless they have bad driving habbits. Driving normal, I got 12 with mine, and babying it on the hwy, I'd get 15 easy.
LED129 - I can get 700km's (15.3 Mpg) on a tank when I leave from Edmonton and tour cross Sask to Winnipeg to visit the inlaws. That's a 302 EFI with 235/75r15's on. It could be cause Sk is so flat.... With my 32's I get about 450Km's per tank or 11 Mpg. And that is based on running it til the needle is in the Red and filling it up with 100 litres of 87 octane gas.
well i hope its got the 302 in it lol. cause i can drive my truck like a grandpa and ill be lucky to hit up 250 kms in my beast. 400 cubic inches is just a gas guzzling monster lol
You should hope for the 300 six.
The 85 I had got 16 MPG no matter what, going up hill 16 mpg ,down hill 16 mpg, freeway 16 mpg....around town it got around 13 mpg.
I loved that 300 six.
Put over 150 k on that truck myself.
I bought it with 50 k on it.
I would still have it if it didnt rust away.
Mine gets 11, but I had just bought it and didn't realize that the kid I bought it from had the hubs locked all the time. Unlocked the hubs and it was much improved, like 13 or 14
I had 89 302 bronco auto over w 3.55 rears 235 75 15 tires. I averaged 13 mpg
Had a 93 supercab same engine ect. It got 13 Mpg.But I tryed to kick the oval off the grill every chance I got. And stilkl do. Odd thing is Bronco got way better milage on open road.
