You want easy money? Buy some cows. At 25% return on investment you can't do that in the bank.

Fix cars... Easy money, changing brake pads for $50 plus parts... Struts for $100 plus parts... Easy stuff, like alternators, can be done for like $10 plus parts.

Really easy, and there's not alot of people who will do that crap for cheap (compaired to a shop)

Beond that, get creative with maintaining things that need maintainance... Lawns, driveways... U could also be a carryout/cart/toilet boy at a retail place, it's ok money for a minor...

Good luck

alternators on newer vehicles are a pain in the butt, ever tried to change one in an escort? or even worse a honda? brake pads are easy though on most vehicles, i usually charge 20 plus parts for pads... shoes suck so ill charge 50, the worst vehicle ive had to replace brake pads on was my 1969 mercury monterey- you have to take the entire assembly out to get the pads out, repack the wheel bearings as long as youve got it apart, and put it all back together... took me 3 hours to do both sides because i didnt have proper tools with me, all i had was a little socket and ratchet set, and a screwdriver

Also keep wanting to try the same with antique tractors, but nobody wants to let go of them without a handful of gold either, no matter how rusty they are. If I figure something out I'll let you know.
Hope you have better luck with those tractors than I did. I got a John Deere 2010 (cira 1965) and an old Ford built no later than the 50s that I don't have time to work on anymore. I do just a little bush hogging with them but other than that they just sit there.

Quick & Easy way to your new truck!

Truck escorts!

All the overwidth / overlength road freight trucks, have to haul in daylight hours only under a permit system - with a vehicle out in front and sometimes one behind as well bearing a flashing orange strobe light and a big sign saying "overwidth / overlength vehicle following"!

This is to let approaching cars etc know to move over and let em bye!

So - you go down to the Ford dealership, and sign up for a near newish Ftruck of your desire - complete with a 2 way radio (to communicate with the truck your escorting) and somewhere in the back you can sleep at night! (Get a fibreglass canopy over the back with sliding windows and insect screens)...and make sure you put a small engel fridge in between the seats for cold drinks and lunch, and a bigger fridge in the back for food for a week or so!

Throw a mattress and sleeping bag in the back, food, and your away!

Probably fit it out with a long range tank - you don't want to be stopping for diesel all the time - and you can fill up when you see it cheap!

Place adverts at the trucking depots and in the yellow pages & internet for truck escorts..

This way - your out driving your truck - getting paid for it and paying it off at the same time!

Course - you'll need a good sound system so you can play your Weird Al Yankovic "truck driving" CD song! (His 1999 album "running with scissors")!

Pretty soon you should be rolling in $

Cheers!

Actually right now I don't. I also have 2, a 1938 Allis Chalmers b(somewhat apart), and a 1959 Massey Ferguson 65 diesel. The Allis will be for sale as soon as I get it together. The Massey was given to me by my grandfather,(injection pump went, $940 to fix), and engine needs rebuilt, but this tractor will not be sold, for sentimental reasons. The pump is done but the engine has to wait until the allis goes. I know how you feel. I just look for rusty stuff at a good price, but never find it.

hey etalian,

be a DJ! sure you can spend 1 or 2 grand or so on equipment, but when your talking about car parts, thats what, like maybe nice aftermarket rims/tires? I started up my own DJ company about 2 years ago and I make $100 an hour and I work only when i want to. Usually fri and sat nights. just think. maybe 4hrs a week. In 5 weeks, thats your equipment, and after that its all profit unless something breaks. If you've got an Explorer you've already got a way to get your stuff to your gigs... Besides, its an excuse to buy some really kick a$$ stereo stuff. This forum is a great place to get a good idea of what people wanna hear too! If you live in a big city itll be easy, but if you live rural, it might be a little tougher... just an idea Hey, it sure beats sweating your butt off mowing lawns!

Except you dont sell it for cash. You sell it for the gang bud. Just get them to bring a lot of weight with them and sell it all at once to a dealer, that way you dont have to get stuck with the distributing hassle/risk.

Thats about the only quick and easy way to make money that i know of. The fat chick escort service would be funny, but bad for your health.

Well I am not sure where you live but if you live in the country I got a way you can make pretty easy money. Most farmers have old vehicles or scrap iron around there land in the trees and so on they dont mind gettin rid of. Drive around and check out feilds and ask the owner if he wants to get rid of it if so you will load it up and get rid of it. You can make some good money hauling in old rusted cars and farm equipment. You can also cut wood and sell it. Depending on the type of wood you can make $100 a truck load.

Buy a brand new truck, move to wyoming and work the oil fields. $26 an hour, plus mileage, plus per diem pay for meals and hotel. 1 week on, 1 week off. Its not easy, but its a ton of money and guaranteed employment, they'll teach you to weld, work on generators, work on pipes... everything.
