Hi guys, my first post, hope its in the right spot. A neighbor down the road has a really solid, great looking 1978 F-100 Custom for sale. The ONLY rust on the truck is a quarter size spot in the driver side floor, small ding in 1 door, & a great looking tailgate. The 302 is from a early 80's Lincoln with a aluminum intake & a new Edelbock carb, not sure of the size,only know its a 4 bbl., new radiator, a/c, pdb, ps, new dual exhaust, new tires. The guy claims to have $4500 in the truck. His son has lost his license, so dad is asking $2000. Not a bad deal??,..huh? Finally, my question is, whats the difference in an F-100 & F-150 in 1978 ? Suspension ?, wheel sizes ? options ?,..Thanks !,..Keith.

 

Ok well sounds like a nice truck and sweet deal the difference well a F100 is exact same as a F150 except just the F150 has heavier duty suspension like springs shocks etc F100 is just lighter not considered as a half ton i guess but options wheel sizes all that stuff are the same i believe F100's are more rarer too in my opinon especially in those years you see a lot more F150's hope this helps

 

I have a 78 short bed no rust but a few dents. A very solid truck. 300 6 cyl, 3 speed on the tree, power steering , a/c. I gave $2150 for it. you can see it in my gallery
