Custom Tune

I was thinking about upgrading turbo, intercooler, injectors, headgaskets, and heads and I was wondering how do the custom tunes address these upgrades or do they really address them within the tunes? I guess what I'm asking is when people write these tunes, do they put in the parameters saying that this particular truck has the above mods and they are capable of x so therefore the tune can do y with these mods which is different from the "canned" tune that I have now or I'm a really gaining anything by going with a custom tune? This particular project isn't cheap and I don't want to spend the extra money that isn't going to net me more then a 10% improvement all the way round. Anybody do a project of this type and worked with custom tunes because of this type of project?

If you do new turbo, heads and injectors you will need a custom tune. You will be making a lot of changes, more than the computer should be expected to compensate for. For a regular custom tune they will take the mods you have to into account while they write your tune. A better option is to have a dyno tune if you want the absolute most from it.
