i found a 78 step side two wheel drive ford. the guy is asking 1500.00 with two motors in the bed, none under the hood. what would be a good price to offer for the truck with no motors. from the pick the body is in great shape.
$200 would be my guess. Who knows what else is missing or broken. The two motors may not be any good either. They may not even fit the transmission and application. They may be just scrap metal. The "step side" bed may be worth something if it is not rusted out.
lets see the pic, it may be worth it if the body is in good shape. its possible that the motors are toast but its also possible that there good, and a stepside in good shape is certainly not an easy thing to come by
well i got the address where it is so i am going to take a drive out there tomarrow. i gusse well see. any thing i should look for besides the the norm. cab mounts rust. i hope it looks as good as it does in the pic i need a winter prodject. thanks
cab mounts, floor, door posts at floor, cab corners, seam along the back of the cab at the floor, and under the lip of the firewall just below the cowl are comon places for these cabs to rust. The radiator core support at the frame mounts and along the bottom lip. the front fender lips and lower corners
well i went and looked at it. a little rust. pass. side window busted out, spots on the floor looked almost rusted through. i offered the guy 500 and he said with out the two motors he still had to get at least 1200.00. needless to say to rich for my liking.
$1200 for any old Ford without an engine and nothing else in the trade?! Are you sure that's American dollars?! That PO must be dreamin'. Few cars are worth better than 1k without at least a long block installed. Maybe people just have more money where you live.
