Engine light came on so I put the code reader to it and it said:
P306- Cylinder 6 misfiring
P355- Ignition coil E malfunction
P358- Ignition coil H malfunction
I know which one # 6 is but what are coils E and H
My truck is a 99 SuperDuty 4X4 with the 5.4 engine
THANKS
You have a coil-on-plug ignition system. I looked at the diagrams and they call them coils 1 thru 8 but possibly the literature you are looking at uses A thru H. I am assuming E would be cylinder 5 and H would be cylinder 8. All these problems seem to be in the same area, so I would look for wiring problems. Something a like a mouse has chewed the wiring up on top of the engine possibly?
Thanks Dave,
I got the Coil E and H from this website under the decoder section with the OBD 2 diagnostic tuner. I will try #5 and #8 tomorrow to see if this fixes my problem.
THANKS Mike
