2001 Explorer Sport
My brother is looking at a 01 sport with 55,000 for $8,000 is this price good and what problems to look for on this vehicle if one was to purchase it.

i just purchased a 2001 sport that had 58000 on it. i love mine. blue book was about 8000 or 9000 i was overcharged for mine they charged me 10000. im a girl and didnt talk them down so i think i was taken advantage of. But that is blue book, try to talk them down. The only poblem I have had so far is I am blowing a fuse that controls several things, rear defroster, reverse lights, over drive, and auto locks when put into drive. as soon as a change the fuse it blows again. It may just be my own vehichle, Ihave not found any recalls for it so far. good luck!

You can do some comparison checking at cars.com. Also, get a carfax report on it to check it out. There are still flood damage cars from NO that are on the market. I'd stay away from leased, fleet, and auctioned vehicles. For 8k, the truck should pass all the local (safety, emissions ..etc) requirements.
