My -97 4.0L has a problem. If I try to start when cold it will start but stalls immediately. If I press the gas pedal a little when firing up it keeps on running. If I take my foot off the pedal the engine stops. If I keep on pushing the pedal down for about 10-15 seconds it remains idling normal. It also drives and runs ok after that, no stopping at the traffic lights or anything.
SO when cold, no fast idle speed. Maybe not an IAC problem. What is the sensor that tells the computer that the engine is cold and fast idle is needed? Anybody had the same problem? What is the black button on the side of the IAC, you can rotate it both ways?
