oil pan options

For those of you who've swaped newer 302/5.0 into your 73-79 2wd, what oil pan did you use. Will the newer 5.0 truck or mustang pans fit? Thanks.

I dropped a 302 in my 79 that had a 351M from the factory- I used the oil pan from and '87 pickup w/ windsor motor.

My tie rods, drag links etc are behind the k member. Currently from the factory it has a 6qt front sump pan. I'd hate to buy something and have problems when I drop the new engine in place. (daily driver) I was thinking of reusing the 79 pan, but since I'm using a 91 5.0 roller motor, not certain the pan will fit, especially since it uses 1 piece rear main seal and different timing cover. I'm going with serpentine belt setup which requires a timinig cover for a reverse rotation water pump. Thanks.

The pan will fit as long as you have the right oil pickup....you'll need a front sump pan to match the one that's on the truck now. Is it a 302 truck now? If so just use that oil pan/pick up
