I'll let everyone share there opinions and or facts but I would say that 305's are as big as I would go with stock setup--assuming this is 4x4...lets see what everyone else says.

I would check with both the ford dealer and the tire dealer to see if you should be putting those on the stock width rims.. That is,,If that's what you're doing..There was a thread about a major on-line tire dealer requiring a release of liability signed before they would sell the tires for use on stock X rims...I asked my tire dealer about the 315X75x16 and he asked me why I wanted something that wide and said no,that I would be better off with an after market rim of at least 8"-8.5" and that they'd more than likely rub anyway at stock height...

Bigdogg55 brings up a very good point. Being in the tire business we see several people running wide oversize tires on narrow stock wheels. Not just Fords, but other models as well. Usually because someone doesn't want the added expense of wheels. Basically if you put 285's (spec'd on 8.0 inch wheels) or 315's (spec'd on 8.5" wheels) on your 7" inch wide stockers, you're paying for rubber you are not going to use. A tire's contact patch is only as wide as the wheel so it is pointless to put wide tires on narrow wheels. The tire can not have a flat footprint, therefore the edges of the tire never make full contact with the road surface. As a result you see a lot of cupping and feathering on the edges. Still we have many customers do it and say they don't care about the irregular wear. I think in a lot of cases it boils down to Mama just sayin' no to wheels (probably already fumin' about the $1000 tire bill). There is a 255/85-16 option if you want the height on your stock wheel, but most people don't like the look of narrow tires (except in Montana where it's fashionable)

Well I do have the eagle 145series wheels 16x8, that they are on. The reason I ask is I will be trading my truck wich has a 4'' lift and has these tires and wheels on them for one with stock ride height and stock tires and wheels. They told me I could swap them out so if possible I would kind of like to keep them. I just got brand new nitto grapplers 315x75/16

One other thing is that I will be swaping the ranch hand replacement bumpers as well and that will give additional tire clearance for the front.
