Heater question

I am looking for something to put inline on the heater hose that would allow the antifreeze to partially warm the engine in winter to make it start easier. I have heard of them but do not remember the name and I cannot find the search feature any more.

Truck is an 89 F250 7.3 diesel

Thanks
Ken

You can buy engine block heather that do this. You can get the kind that either go in the lower radiator hose, the block, or the heater hose like you want to do. I've seen them in the $20-30 range. Are you sure that your truck doesn't already have one being a diesel?

I have one in the block but it's not enough with only 750 watts. Looking for a lower hose or a heater hose.. Any suggestions...

Thanks
Ken

Get a tank heater for it. It goes into one of the heater hoses. All you have to do is run the return line for it since it circulates the coolant. I think they are around $25. They work great.

They have some kind of pump in them, I'm not really sure what kind, though. I have had one on my 78 F100 with a 300 and it worked great and was pretty easy to put in.
