Beachbumcook, Why do YOU bring up Walmart in every other post?
If you will go back and read the oil and fuel filter posts, you will find that "Wal Mart" has the cheapest price on the the OEM Racor oil filter (which is the only oil filter to use in the 6.0 PSD) the knock off oil filters by Wix etc, do not work properly and can damage the engine.

Beach and others mention buying Racor oil filters at Wal Mart because they have the lowest price.
Beach and others also mention to buy the OEM Racor fuel filters at your local "International" dealer as they have the lowest price.

FTE is about helping each other out and passing on good advice. Sounds like you have problems with "Wal Mart" as in several posts in different threads you have bashed "Wal Mart". You seem to have no problem with Beach and others mentioning to buy fuel filters at "International".

FTE is not a place for you to bash "Wal Mart". If you don't like Wal Mart, then don't shop there. But there is no need to bash Beach or anyone else who points someone in the direction of the place to purchase OEM filters or any other OEM parts for the lowest price.

Hope this helps

Re read my post, I didnt bash Walmart. I dont care for what Walmart is doing to this country. Thats my opinion, and like I stated "I wouldnt buy anything from Walmart if I were you".
Our you sure that they have the best prices??? I am not.
Check out one of the sponsers. I havent looked real hard, but one I looked at real quick was dieselfiltersonline.com
$18.95

AGE mechanic,

I did read your post, you made a thinly veiled, baiting comment about Wal Mart and about Beachbumcook.

Beach does alot of research on oil and fuel etc, backed up by the data to support it. Wal Mart usually always has the lowest prices on OEM oil filters for the 6.0 and this has been confirmed by many members.. If someone else starts selling OEM oil filters for less money i am sure Beach will happily pass on the information.

You did not offer any direct links to a lower priced OEM oil filter in your original posts. You just said "Shop Around". If you had a lower priced source for OEM filters you could have provided it in your original post, so that All FTE members could benefit. Being argumentative for the sake of an argument, is not helpful to the members of FTE.

$18.95 is not a bad price for an OEM filter (Shipping must be added). I just purchased two OEM filters at Wal Mart for $15.93 each a couple of weeks ago.

Also in this weeks flyer, Checker/Schucks/Kragen has a coupon for 2 Fram filters for $6.50 (limit 4). The Fram filters are factory OEM Racor filters in a Fram box. Pep Boys had the same deal for $7.00.

Hope this helps

Dont be so "thinly" skinned blackhat620, this post isnt about price. Maybe the guy that posted has values and isnt a cheapskate, I dont know. Do you? I think most everything Beachbumcook has to say is helpful to this forum EXCEPT steering people too Walmart. There is more to life than best price (they dont always have).

Is Fram and Autolite the same company? I know I bought 2 Autolite Al 2016W oil filters for $14.86 from Wal-Mart but now I can not find anything on the internet with that part# ... I'm only coming up with these Fram oil filters...
Extra Guard® CH9549 --
Extra Life® Air Filter CA9516 --
Fuel Filter CS9667

While at Wal-Mart I examined the Fram filter against the Autolite filter and they were identical, right down to the packaging and the 'Made In Germany' stamp...the only difference that I could see was the price difference.

I now can't find a thing on the internet regarding *any* Autolite filters.

What gives?

There you go again, only posting derogatory personal attacks. There is no place for this on FTE.

Both are owned by Honeywell, They should be the same filter.

Lets get back to the topic blackhat620

It is the same oil / filter whether it be at Walmart, AutoZone or Tiffiney's. It shouldn't make any difference to you where he spends his $$$. Beach was merely making a suggestion.

If you have a vendetta against Walmart take it to the BBB or your local politicians....it is not necessary here at FTE.

But, thank you for presenting other alternatives.

Now I'm not generally to picky on keeping on topic as threads are typically dynamic...but.... Let's stay respectful and on topic here please. The topic at hand regards oil change intervals.

Why do I bring it up... you ask.

I have 4 places to buy Racor made filters...

1) Ford dealer (too high priced)

2) Int'l Dealer (too high priced)

3) Advanced Auto Parts (Other people may or may not have this parts store)

4) Walmart (They are everywhere and their price is less expensive than #1 and #2 above and if #3 is not in another FTE member's area then they couldn't benefit from it.

So why do I bring it up.... ease of purchase and great competitive price. They also sell several types of 15W-40 CI4+ or CJ4 rated diesel oil and if someone wanted synthetic diesel oil, they have Rotella-Syn 5W-40... and again price and ease of purchase and convenience.

Red face Whatev . . .

Well if price is your focus then go to Pep Boys or Checker/Krager as they are having a sale now. GET THIS . . . 2 for $7.00/6.50. Limit of 4. Pep Boys is here in Houston and i got mine, the sale runs thru 12/9.

BTW, coupon on the Pep Boys website . . .

Oh yeah, keep your politics to yourself, it is like religion a personnal choice.

Talking Ok, Ok . . .

Let's keep The Cheby Hammer happy. I change mine every 5,000 given the reaserch beachbum has done and the tests he has shown. I can't figure out why the tells you to do this at 7,500 if the oil shears like it does and they really don't want any warrantee issues from not changing it soon enough.

Maybe overkill but, I did the first one at 1000, and every 3000 there after. Just changed it yesterday. Love that Foyomoto valve.

think about this
Ford's core business is selling the box (F250) that the 6.0 came in. So if the 6.0 is wore out @ 100000 + miles due to extended oil change intervals then Ford gets to sell another box (F250).
